We currently have a supply of RABIES vaccines (despite worldwide shortage)

THE NEW MENINGITIS B & FLU VACCINATIONS ARE AVAILABLE

LISBURN TRAVEL CLINIC IS A YELLOW FEVER CENTRE. 

NHS VACCINES (Hepatitis A, Typhoid, Dip/Tetanus/Polio) CAN BE AVAILABLE **FREE** on prescription  (unlike other providers who charge)

Appointments are essential and can be made by telephoning (we can facilitate last minute travellers)

Ideally you should make your appointment to see the Specialist Nurse at least 6 – 8 weeks prior to travel; please bear in mind that clinics can vary due to seasonal demand, therefore it is advisable to ensure you allow 1 – 2 weeks to get an appointment.

Groups
If you are travelling as part of a large group we can arrange for a nurse to come and speak to your group about the general risks and recommendations for the specific area you are travelling to.

NHS or Private?

travel board YOU ARE ENTITLED TO NHS VACCINES FREE OF CHARGE - OTHER CLINICS CHARGE!!

Some vaccines are available on the NHS but others are not. Patients from Lisburn Health Centre can be given relevant NHS vaccinations free-of-charge during their visit - patients from 'outside practices' will be advised the most cost-effective way to have these administered.

GP’s can give the following on the NHS:

  • Diptheria
  • Hepatitis A
  • Polio
  • Tetanus
  • Typhoid

GP’s cannot give the following vaccines on the NHS:

  • Hepatitis B
  • Malaria 
  • Japanese Encephalitis
  • Meningoccoccal
  • Rabies
  • Tick Borne Encephalitis
  • Yellow Fever
